At the meeting, Li Lingshen, vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out in his speech that the textile industry will become one of the industrial sectors in which China has the potential to take the lead in the ranks of the world's manufacturing powers.
Li Lingshen introduced that in 2018, China's total textile fiber processing volume was 54.6 million tons, accounting for more than half of the world's total fiber processing volume; China's textile and apparel export value was US $ 276.73 billion, accounting for more than 36% of the world total. From the supply of raw materials, design and development, to textile processing, finishing, operation and sales, the Chinese textile industry has become an industrial field with a large global volume and a complete industrial system. The independent innovation capability of the industrial chain has been continuously improved, and major breakthroughs have been made in the fields of high-performance and high-functional fiber materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, and industrial textiles.
Li Lingshen said that in 2018, China's textile industry's R & D investment was 47.1 billion yuan, accounting for 3.60% of the national industry, and R & D investment intensity was 0.88%, an increase of 0.41% compared with 5 years ago; and 5 years ago In comparison, the number of employees in China's textile industry decreased by 3.675 million, but total assets increased by 404.7 billion yuan, and per capita assets increased by 150,000 yuan, which fully reflects the effectiveness of technology in improving quality and efficiency in the industry. "In the future, replacing technological imitation with cutting-edge technological innovation will surely become an important driving force for the conversion of old and new kinetic energy and high-quality development of China's textile industry." Li Lingshen emphasized.
It is reported that in 2019, the Textile Science and Technology Award awarded a total of 6 technological invention awards, 77 scientific and technological progress awards, and 4 special contribution awards (Sangma Scholars). The proportion of awards for science and technology awards this year has been significantly reduced to only 48%, which is much lower than about 60% in previous years, and the "gold content" has been significantly improved.
The education award includes two parts: the higher education teaching achievement award, the teacher award and the student award. The Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award is targeted at textile and apparel undergraduate colleges and has awarded a total of 327 awards. The award-winning projects are mainly focused on talent training models, professional construction, curriculum reform, practical teaching, innovation education, subject competition, and integration of production and education.
Recently, Sun Ruizhe said at the 2019 China Textile Innovation Annual Conference that China's textile industry has formed the world's largest complete industrial system. In 2018, China's textile industry's total fiber processing accounted for more than half of the world's total; textile and apparel exports accounted for more than one-third of the world's total. The status of the textile industry as a pillar industry of the national economy and an important civilian production industry is even more prominent. As of the end of 2018, the number of corporate entities, total assets, and total operating income of the textile and apparel industry accounted for 9.5%, 4.8%, and 5.4% of the industry respectively; the number of employees was 11.032 million, accounting for 9.6% of the national industry. The proportion of textile and clothing exports in the country's total exports of goods was 12%; the net foreign exchange earnings of textiles and clothing was 250.19 billion US dollars, accounting for 71.1% of the national trade surplus.
